Tutoring Experience

I have 3 years of private tutoring experience in GCSE Mathematics and Sciences.

Over 2 years, I helped private clients go from bottom sets to top sets in their respective schools which has set them up for high achievement in A-Level and very good prospects for university.

It is understated how help with GCSE exams can set a student up for success in later years and I believe it is the most important time to help a student as the confidence gained in those years compounds later on in their academic life. I was also hired by my school to hold group tutoring sessions for GCSE students in Mathematics and Sciences for students in Year 11.

Finally, I have helped students with personal statements for a variety of UK universities including Oxford and Cambridge both formally and informally and held a webinar for students in Croatia regarding Oxbridge applications specifically. I am passionate about giving intelligent students all over the world the best opportunities to study in the UK and will go above and beyond to ensure this.

Tutoring Approach

My Mathematics tuition lies on a tried and tested system of spaced repetition, active recall and problem-solving which is what allowed my students to excel in their mathematical abilities throughout the past 3 years. I give students insight into my own approach to solving problems and understanding of concepts and give them the space and guidance to explore their own. I vary my approach from student to student and find the optimal methods of learning for them. I track their performance based on topics and dedicate attention to these accordingly.

My University Application support is primarily based around the UCAS personal statement. Specialising in STEM applications, I guide my students through structuring their essay and know what to include to give them the best possible chance of impressing universities and securing places at them. For Oxbridge applicants, there are specific tutors are looking for and having personal experience in the process, I know what has to be included for these boxes to be ticked.
