Cambridge University - BA in Human Social and Political Sciences
I recently graduated from Cambridge University with a first-class degree in Human, Social, and Political Sciences. I am passionate about guiding others in their study of Sociology, offering support in content understanding, revision strategies, and exam techniques. Additionally, I specialize in coaching students for university applications, particularly those aiming for Humanities or Social Sciences programs, including Oxbridge. My focus is on helping students achieve their academic goals and excel in their educational pursuits.

Personally Interviewed
Our tutors go through a rigorous selection process, having been interviewed to assess their teaching skills and subject knowledge. They have extensive tutoring experience with a track record of success, helping students achieve their academic goals.
Tutoring Experience
-I currently work as a Level 2 Teaching Assistant at a state-run secondary school. This has not only allowed me to gain teaching experience with younger students (Y7-Y11), but also with sixth form pupils. For instance, I currently assist in various A-Level Sociology lessons and offer additional tuition in this subject to pupils who desire it. Furthermore, this role has given me the opportunity to help Y13 students apply to university; I recently ran a workshop at this school to assist ‘early applicants’ (those applying to Medicine, Veterinary and Oxbridge) with their personal statements and with interview preparation.
-I have tutored multiple students in my spare time who have required help with A-Level Sociology, as well as individuals who have been applying to Medicine or Sociology at University. This experience has taught me how to adapt my tuition techniques to each individual, considering their specific goals, learning styles, and needs.
-At university, I was a CAMBassador. This role involved working alongside school pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds to inspire them to apply to university.
Tutoring Approach
First, I will identify the area in which my student is requiring tuition and gauge their individual needs. At this early stage, I am keen to find out what the student’s own goals are.
This is important so I can figure out what they would like to gain from this tuition and in what time period. Then, I will discuss with the student a suitable plan that we will work through together to help them. Throughout the tuition, I work on developing the student’s own voice – this is vital both in GCSE/A-Level work and for any university application. At the end of each session, I ensure I check that the student understands what we have explored. This may be through a quiz, discussion, or small task (such as planning an essay answer to an exam question). I take this as an opportunity to exchange feedback, highlighting to the student what has gone well/what could go better, and asking them to offer their opinion as to what they feel is working best/what could work better.
Finally, to ensure continual progress, I offer to set tasks for the student to complete and return to me for the following session, if this suits them.
