Personally Interviewed
Our tutors go through a rigorous selection process, having been interviewed to assess their teaching skills and subject knowledge. They have extensive tutoring experience with a track record of success, helping students achieve their academic goals.
Tutoring Experience
I have extensive experience in both helping students who need a little extra help with their GCSEs and A-Level subjects to feel confident and ready for their exams to pushing those who are already doing well even further so that they can fly ahead.
I have been tutoring younger students since I was 14, moving into formal tutoring since finishing my A-Levels which I have continued through my degree.
I have extensive experience in tutoring students through Oxbridge Admissions and have had an 100% success rate with all of my tutees being offered a place at their chosen Universities.
Tutoring Approach
For English Literature, I aim to instill confidence in a student in their own writing style and voice. Marks cannot be earned by trying to make students sound like someone they are not, students do best when they are confident in their own abilities and are able to trust their own convictions when making analytical comments and expressing opinions about texts.
History is much more about learning techniques to memorise information in order to be able to deploy it in the best ways. Spaced repetition and other learning techniques are underused in the humanities but can be absolutely critical to success in historical work.
Oxbridge admissions are about broadening a student’s horizons as far as possible in order to show that they can be an asset to the university, giving them the tools that they need in order to prepare them for a demanding but rewarding application process.

Testimonials
"... One of my favourite parts of being tutored by Claire was when she and her friend gave me a mock interview which was both really helpful and fun. As a tutor, Claire was so nice and welcoming, and also knowledgeable and I enjoyed being her tutee"
