Tutoring Experience

I have worked with students a variety of students from many different grades. Starting with children in elementary and middle school to high school students, I have mainly taught reading comprehension, writing, IB Biology HL, and IB Chemistry HL.

Currently I am teaching students in Vietnam, Poland, and Australia. I’ve been teaching one of my students for almost 2 years now and he started with a 4 in grade 10 chemistry. Wanting to pursue medicine, he decided to take IB Chemistry SL and started with a grade 5 and was able to raise his grade to a 7 within the first two months. He has since switched his course to IB Chemistry HL and has received an overall grade of 6.

Another student I tutor started IB Biology with a grade of 4. I have started tutoring him very recently, and on his last exam, he was able to bring his grade up to a 6. These were some of the successful cases of improvements in my students. I have also been able to successfully tutor a student in TOEFL who received a score above 110/120.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching methods mostly consist of lecture-based PowerPoints and past paper questions for IB subjects, SAT, and TOEFL. For homework, I will most likely assign practice questions with similar concepts that we’ve covered in class.

For college essay writing classes, my classes will consist of brainstorming, writing, and peer editing of the essays. These classes are normally conducted with the help of Google doc and for homework students must go through my comments on their drafts. College essay writing for universities in the United Kingdom and in the United States are very different.

I’ve experienced both first hand and was able to receive successful offers from both countries. Because the essay writing styles are very different for the two countries, please let me know in advance which type of college essay writing you would like to focus on.
