Tutoring Experience

At the University of Oxford, I provided academic tutoring during the Trinity Term of 2021, conducting a full term of eight tutorials in Modern Languages. In my role with a private tutoring company, I specialised in academic tutoring for Bachelor in International Relations students, focusing on Philosophy and Political Theory. Additionally, from 2020 to 2022, I served as an Admissions Tutor with the same company, offering comprehensive guidance including mock interviews, personal statement assistance, and general counselling. During 2020-2021, I also provided tutoring services in the Natural Sciences.

Tutoring Approach

Admission Tuition Approach - I would tailor my approach to each student’s profile, from general counselling to personal statement drafting and editing, test papers and mock interviews. I would focus on emphasising each student’s strengths as well as identifying and filling in possible gaps. I would help each student develop their analytical approach and critical thinking skills in both writing and speaking.

Academic Tuition Approach - I would tailor my approach to each student’s profile, from general counselling to essay drafting, editing and polishing, with a particular emphasis on writing structure and style. I would work on paragraph structure, phrasing and referencing. I will lay my focus on enhancing the student’s analytical approach and critical thinking skills in academic reading and writing.
